Thanks onishenko. Got any more of those? The Tango looks really nice, will be nice to see more high rises in that cluster. I'm a little unsure about west&east elevations though.

Oni - thanks for the link.

I don't mind the plan in page 7, but still, I'd suppose that the actual layout of any proposed development on the Muni lands may come out quite different from what's in that plan. This is just a concept, after all (read the fine print on the next page). Of course, any major redevelopment is not going to go up for quite a while, and things could change quite a bit down the road.

I'm hoping someone can direct me to the page on the edmonton site where you can search for development permit applications. I can't find it on their new site.

^ you can go to maps.edmonton.com

Install the SVG viewer, then navigate to "general/development applications" - select whatever ward, development permit type, and voila!

Interesting. Perhaps some windows placed high on the wall in a bedroom above the bed location or in a bathroom above a tub/shower? Allows light in but retains privacy.

Personally I'd prefer 118 avenue to be continuous W/E. Also 109 street to connect directly to the Yellowhead with a GRADE SEPARATED INTERCHANGE and perhaps continue on over/under the yards and connect to 113 street. This would provide another access to downtown from the north taking traffic off 97 street and 127 street. This bridge/tunnel could be coupled with LRT taking it north to Castledowns then St. Albert.

I like the modular look of the townhouses. The document has an interesting rendering including the surrounding buildings. I think it is more interesting than the plain boxes we see for Icon and Illuminada. Although it is missing the street level interaction of a coffee shop or deli or whatever.

the townhouses, from the images i saw, are very amateur in arrangement. The entire podium to me is cluttered and awkward.

The house should be converted into a wicked restaurant.

Kind of odd, as conditions aren't exactly ideal for tornado-producing thunderstorms! However, conditions are right for cold-air funnels. Probably more or less a precaution against any cold-air funnel touching down and actually becoming a tornado (like what happened in Grande Prairie a few years ago).
