Unsure of which, but it is looks more permanent than temporary.

zinc was a bit of a “one-off” in i believe the restaurant was actually the aga’s and operated on their behalf, likely with guarantees to the operator similar to the deal on hotel badging. if so, it may be the aga trying to limit their exposure and not a tenant pulling the plug as that arrangement probably falls outside of the federal rent subsidies as no rent would have been payable. anything that’s “one-off” often falls between the cracks of most of the support programs.

read what i wrote... it wasn’t a comment on the room or its profitability (although when you don’t pay rent that’s an easier plateau to reach). what i wrote was that the operating structure that included no rent likely made it even more difficult for the operator and the aga as it would not have satisfied most of the base line criteria for covid support programs. that’s the “one-off” part.

Good to hear. Restaurants never closed down in Vancouver after the initial lockdown, and thank God for that. What a mental health break it is being able to get out and grab a bite.

You know what is a better mental health break? Not letting the virus run wild through the province, like what our provincial government did to us. I would prefer waiting another month until cases and spread goes down to zero before thinking of opening anything up! Besides, we'll all be locked back down in 3 to 4 weeks anyway when the UK variant takes hold. I don't see any of this as progress.

Agreed, dining out with people you live with isn't worth it if our case counts start rising again and we go back to square one.
