A pity. But if I'm in the mood for a damn good Vietnamese sub sammich then I can always head down to Fantasia Noodle House Express. The elderly couple who run Fantasia are good people.

Sad to see the 'fine dining/restaurant' space in the SWC of the Federal Building now filled with cubicles...

The upper restaurant, lower lounge and large sheltered patio would have been amazing.

Alas...

I live in Mexico and watching the Cooking Channel on my TV (live) and Firemaster show comes up - which is BBQ and right now one of Chefs is from Edmonton and is Chef in a BBQ restaurant, and his name disappeared after the intro and I missed it and where he works. He is Asian-Canadian I think. Anyone know his name and the restaurant? I would kill for some real Alberta beef right now.

Edit: found him. Chef JP Dublado of River Cree Resort (or was working there at time of taping show I think).

"In spite of the ever-changing public health regulations, more than 4,000 new businesses opened in Edmonton between March and November 2020. Not all of these businesses were in the food and hospitality sector, but they are among the most visible."

Better information than in the main stream media ... good to read that.

Tried out Betsy's South African deli yesterday.

Their chicken curry pie was delicious and they make/grind their sausages in-house.

Zinc's sign at the AGA has been removed (a couple of months ago) and online it now says 'permanently closed' as opposed to 'temporary'.

Unsure of which, but it is looks more permanent than temporary.
