Whatever it is the footing was poured earlier this week. They did spend quite a bit of time compacting fill on that site.

A couple notes:

- I noticed an LED street light the other day for the first time on Isabel, did some digging — ALL street & lane lights will be replaced with LEDs over the next 4 years by Hydro... no more amber lighting.

- found all the details on Academy Road streetscaping here. Not sure how long it will all take but the poles are all up.

It seems the FP jumped the gun on this story. The funding for the Museum upgrades have NOT been approved. This is by no means a guaranteed done deal.

What colour temperature was that? Since you said no amber light so I assume it's more daytime or cool white? I've always hated warm yellow lol. My home is mostly cool white bulbs.

The article didn't say that it was a sure thing, only that there is a plan and it is contingent on successful fundraising.

Theres a couple in my area. It's cool white and very bright.

I wonder how they plan to roll these out in neighborhoods like mine that have old fashion styled lamp posts with 360 degree lantern tops. The light from these does not shine straight down rather horizontal in all directions. I would imagine that they would need to use frosted LED bulbs.

Apparently they have been trying that type of lighting out in Royalwood on a street or two.

That is fantastic news. White streetlights allow everything to retain its natural colour at night rather than turning it all into a creepy discoloured halloween orange. Makes for a far more pleasant and safer-feeling environment.

I was thinking the same thing this morning. But then the sewer and water pipes will have to be within those joists so maybe that space will be heated.

Great project, however I see from the updated renders on the site that they've dropped all those bars that hung over from the building to the sidewalk that were in the original. Not really sure what they were for (maybe vines?) but they looked interesting..
