A W.I.P Imodeled this over the past few days for a work project test. It's in floor by floor panel by panel sections. I will be making a time-lapse-style animation of its construction from the steel frames and elevator core to the facade and lighting. Used some of the Toronto CBD to give it scale. What happened to our fantasy thread?

I was really curious how 91 King and Fundy Quay would impact the skyline so out came Sketchup and Google Earth to the rescue. I wish 91 King was a lot taller and Fundy Quay a lot shorter, to be honest! It would have been ideal to have the taller buildings on top of the hill with the shorter buildings hiding the hill as it gives the impression of taller buildings and results in a more impressive skyline. Zooming around from all angles, it’s hard to find a picture-perfect skyline angle. If Fundy Quay ends up being very high quality, this might not be so bad though! I had to try to convince myself the weird things atop 91 King were fine, but I still hate them. A 19-storey building at 91 King would have looked amazing!
Two projects in downtown SJ (91 King and the Coast Guard Site redevelopment) will be transformative for the downtown. This post shows the effect the massings will have on the downtown skyline.
Since we apparently don't like future skylines based on buildings that have been proposed or approved, here's Ottawa's future skyline with only the buildings currently u/c. Hoping to add two more over 100 meters, one near the middle and one on the upper, right corner of the image.
Finished this test for a position I was after. I didn't have time to animate it or add in the details I would have liked but the company loved the concept and I landed the job.
