^Corner of Cornwall and 12th avenue. The construction will destroy two great structures that are almost an ideal scale for being on the park and once housed what we all want there to be in that area, a restaurant, in this case a restaurant with history and current marketing potential (used as a set in Little Mosque on the Prairies.) For me, Tower 4 should take out the atrocity of a parkade on Cornwall and rebuild it into a podium with some street retail while preservinng the buildings on 12th. But that is my opinion. I'm sure others will say the buildings are derelict and not worth saving and the Novia had no history and served bad food and they'd rather see a chain restaurant there.
As much as Harvard has been great for downtown and done some great development work over the years I think they could have done even better for the history and density of the core.
I'm curious what is going to happen to the plaza when Tower IV happens. Part of me thinks the city will have wasted a bunch of time and money on that when Harvard decides that parking and vehicular access to Tower I and Tower IV needs to be better and the plaza gets destroyed or altered a lot to support that.
