Sorry but, there's no contest between Calgary and Edmonton. It's just two towers! Coldrsx list has some inflated heights and a whole whack of speculations being passed off as proposed.

Yeah there's no competition between Edmonton and Calgary as of right now. Calgary's downtown is miles ahead of Edmonton's and for a few reasons.

However, the progress Edmonton is making right now is pretty remarkable considering how little development there was for two decades. It's resulting in Edmonton having the largest transformation in it's downtown/skyline of any Canadian city right now. And while not everything in the pipeline will come to fruition or might come out half assed, it shows that Edmonton's downtown is going to continue to change for the better over the coming years and eventually become one of the most interesting/diverse skylines in the country.

Also, there isn't really a point for Edmonton to continue to compare itself to Calgary on this. Do your thing, use examples of success across North America instead of 3 hours down south.

Edmonton’s skyline next year will resemble that of a few american cities who have a super tall tower (~250m) surrounded by smaller highrises (100-120m). Which isn’t a bad thing.

Edmonton's skyline is amazing for a city it's size, and will continue to grow.

Yes. Can he be honest and not embellish for once in his life? I know I'm not the only one tired of his snake oil salesman approach on SSP. I feel bad for the downtown business association. It could be an asset when selling to others but, I'm sure he does the same when speaking to the downtown community. Oh vey; real estate agents.

Heres one from the SW or about 250m from the Katz house.

Out for a bike ride in the valley yesterday just as the fog was lifting.

Excuse me?

I work directly with those developers/groups and chat with them regularly on how things are progressing.

That's a cool shot. Edmonton looks like a metropolis in the middle of nature.

Another 10 years of growth in Edmonton at about the same rate as is happening right now will help close the gap, but Calgary is still on another level. Where Edmonton can beat us and we won't be able to catch up, is continued development along the south side of the valley in Strathcona. Calgary's skyline will eventually cross the river into Sunnyside and Bridgeland (already starting to see some mid rise there), but we will never have anything like the second skyline in Edmonton.

I still find Montreal's skyline to be a bit underwhelming, but the stock of grand old buildings is just something else! I'd happily trade Brookfield tower for St Joseph's Oratory

What is that big blank wall? I get that they aren't going to put windows on a wall right on the property line, but put a mural or an advertisement or something there, that look horrible. Great looking area aside from that though, Winnipeg definitely has some character.
