God I'm so proud of Toronto. Such a boom that just keeps going and going!

I'm not from Toronto or have any family ties to there at all, but I still feel the pride as a Canadian marvelling at our country's primary city.

That pic is 10 years old, though.

Must be just me. That shot is nice but does not blow me away. My fave Toronto shots are from the lake.

Explains (at least a good part of) it, then.

I didn't think it looked particularly small...but then, perhaps part of that is that I just know what's actually there. I suppose I could see how the distance compression (as well as just the sheer distance of the shot) might make it seem smaller though. Here's roughly the same angle that is a little closer, less compressed, and recent:

It's true. There easily a difference of 100 towers between the two aerials. Towers are averaging much higher than any previous booms which makes those missing towers even more significant. For example, 44 Charles was the 10th tallest building when the aerial was taken. Today, it is the 23rd tallest built (nothing under construction was included) Hopefully, the example offers a little insight over what is no more than stating the obvious on this forum.

I really like a lot of those shots you posted, MonkeyRonin, and I think some are spectacular, but none of them move me like the one I singled out. I really do think that there's something special about that particular one.

Call it personal preference.

Great pics monolith and others!

Also with idnx and 100 being built soon half of the fcp's view will be missing when viewing from north , its gonna make things look even more dense in the cbd. And just in general Toronto in 2020 will be absolutely insane in a good way.

I'm with you on that. It's a nice shot, but there are way better pics of Toronto that I've seen.

Not even the main skyline, but daaamn, that's nice.

Actually, I think in many cases the best cityscape shots are those that don't show the CBD (Eg.).
