This doesn't sound like a shopping mall as some people are expecting. It is going to be a 300,000 square foot 'showroom building' with space for up to
350 display areas for trade opportunities. (Remember: Wal-Mart's new Supercentres are close to 200,000 square feet. Winnipeg's new IKEA is nearly 400,000 square feet).
This sounds something like a permanent trade show, where up to 350 businesses will have booths to showcase their products, talk to potential customers, and perhaps ink some sales.
I still think this is a great thing for Dundurn, Saskatoon, and Saskatchewan as a whole. People will travel to it if it offers a wide range of innovative, unique, and quality products, just as people come from around the globe for Agribition and the Farm Progress shows.
I just hope there will be more to this project than
this.
