Ya Man! I think he also did the new TCU PLACE EXPANSION, that looks darm good. I think that if Remai let's him come up with a design without putting strict financial limits, then we will get a great looking place. The problem is $$MONEY$$. If they don't want to spend that kind of cash, them it will look cheap and ooogley.

Big concrete pumping thinger at 2nd Ave Lofts today, pumping all the way up to the roof. Lots of dudes up there. Could a fifth storey be coming, finally?

Former Urbane space, rumored to be a restaurant, has a new coat of paint and a freshly tar'd roof. Still no official word that I know of on what it's going to be.

Naturally, there's no mention of that project.

Word on the street is that the new Tapas bar at the former Black Duck spot opens November 1. Sounds like some decent $$ is going into it.
Any word yet on who grabbed the former Urban Adventure spot?

I have heard, from a customer, that Lululemon is moving to the former Urban Adventure store.

The designs are in for the proposed whitewater park. Here they are....

More can be found at http://www.ttwwc.ca

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

I like option 1, 2 seems a bit ambitious.

The whole thing seems kinda nutty, but what the hell? I'd probably give it whirl if it ever comes to be.

The important question:has anyone consulted the pelicans?

Personally #3 looks good to me. The least impact on the river of the three. But honestly I would like the weir removed. Let the river go back to its natural flow.

Question, is the weir even needed anymore?

The weir is still required to maintain a certain level of water in the river to accomodate the water treatment plant intake.

Also - the riverbed would be exposed - I was in Outlook last weekend for a round of golf and the river was dry. It has been like that since about late July.

I like the whitewater park idea. I think it will we a unique attraction to Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. I have heard that the weir is completely useless and would not affect the upstream water intake if removed. It is also (again, what I have heard) more of a harm to the natural river ecosystem.

On another note, I believe the whole Meridian on Broadway thing is a big hoax generated by Meridian developments for publicity. Bastards….

That really ticks me off!! I did say earlier that I would believe it when I see it, but was hoping that it was for real. People really like to bulls**t!!!

There's probably a million and a half possible reasons as to why the MoB hasn't broken ground yet. I have faith, like Linus has faith in the Great Pumpkin, that it will come to be.

On a more positive note, I see steel framing has been erected at the site between the Canada Building and the Empire Theatre. It's hard to say right now, but it doesn't look like it will turn out like the rendering that was on the sign out front. It looks like the south half will be two floors and the north half one. The project is being pushed by Guardian Real Estate's (which appears to be a renegade break off from J.J. Barnike) whose webpage has read 'Watch for the unveiling of our new site this week!' for the last month now.

That's good news about the Guardian space, though I'm getting annoyed with their webpage.

Some hot gossip: Barry Hotel has been sold. No idea what is planned (if anything) for it.

First the Continental, now the Barry. Where are the rummies and down and outers going to drink now? This is an outrage.
