Where does it all go? Dumped in the Strait?

Provided it's clean, generally that's where it goes. It's six kilometers west of UBC with a radius of one nautical mile and at a depth of 240 metres.

Just think about all the various sites that are ongoing. I know a good portion of Vancouver city goes for marine disposal but Richmond all goes to the valley I assume the same for Burnaby and the other areas. It definitely adds up to 1000s of M3 a day being moved around

I've been to TAB a few times now, and I've got to say, it's a pretty successful development so far. It's always decently busy, and the connection to the Skytrain is really well done.

Oh, and Glorious Bao in the food court is fantastic for those hungering for some Taiwanese street market-style grub.

The food court is fantastic! Definitely not something I would have expected given that it's kind of at the back of the new part of the site. Loved it when we stopped in for lunch last week - so many great (and non-US fast food) outlets.

How is the narrow skybridge coping with foot traffic? Have they added more faregates to the station?

It has never seemed particularly congested to me. Also, no there are still only three fare gates which I'd imagine to be more a bottleneck.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that they're about to add more faregates during the current renovation.

If the mall was mostly retailers that close at 9:00pm, I could see the passage getting congested, but the restaurant service focus of the mall probably distributes the passenger volumes across a longer period of time in the evenings.

I popped into use the CIBC on Saturday and noticed the Gelato place is finally open. It's very basic and bare-bones, nothing fancy, hard to call it decorated, looks quite sparse.

I agree! Night and day compared to the old boring/depressing food court there. Thai place is great.

Rivian is opening in the cubes above the Royal Bank on the main corner. Big Rivian Coming Soon signs covering the windows now.

The Amazing Brentwood Near Vancouver Adding Retailers And Attractions In Multi-Phase Redevelopment [Interview]
https://retail-insider.com/retail-inside...-in-multi-phase-redevelopment-interview/

Notable points:
- Neighbourhood One (the expansion) is 95% leased, but only 61% open so far (only 8,000 sq ft along Brentwood Blvd. available and they want athleisure or fashion there).
- RecRoom is the #2 RecRoom in Canada after downtown Toronto.
- Tap& Barrel will be 10,000 sq ft.
- Rivian in the Glass House will be a longer than usual pop-up opening July 1st.
- Neighbourhood 2 (Towers 5 and 6) will have 60,000 sq ft of retail.
- Nothing firmed up with L Catterton for luxury brands yet - that'll be in a future phase.

Yup, the food court there is genuinely one of the best in metro Vancouver.

I know it sounds like I'm hyping it up too much. But, my office is right above pacific centre, and the food court there is garbage compared to Brentwood. Half of the vendors are not edible. Even though, Pacific centre, is considered to be a high-end luxury mall.

Pacific Centre's food court is buried in the basement and is not at all like the fashionable food halls being built right now. It wouldn't be quite as central in the mall and goodness knows servicing it would be expensive, but I would be interested to see a food hall on the second floor of the ex-Nordstrom space. With easy access from Granville and Robson, you could potentially even keep the food hall open late and try to lure some of the people coming and going to bars and clubs into the space. I don't know anything about liquor licensing, but maybe there could even be a taproom representing local breweries.

There's a reason why the New West public market had better food options than most shopping mall food courts. They had a landlord that went out of their way to find those tenants. Downtown Vancouver isn't really limited by fast food options. They might be better off just turning that into more retail space.

Pacific Centre also had that food court in the bottom of the Holts/old atrium

Remember when CF dumped $30 million into renovating the "dining terrace" at Richmond Centre? It's pretty much a carbon copy of garbage food options like any other suburban mall.

The thread title should probably be updated with the current phase tower information.

The Dining Terrace is more like a Dining Attic

The old food court was way better. Nothing can replace natural lighting for a place of gathering:
