What's truly amazing about it is how old it is. 2 years in Toronto time is a lot! Love to see that view now.

I think Toronto might actually look bigger in that last shot than it would today. Aura is so tall that it makes everything else look so tiny. Without it, it's almost easier to appreciate the scale of the forest of highrises that makes up the city.

Don't see Aura having that much of an impact in that view. To me, it would be right behind Spire. Not sure how different it would look Today. Pace may be the biggest change.

To chime in, I like this shot. But, to chime out, it's still the east end, so, you know, you have to have some reservations about it. I freely admit that there is lots of great stuff on the east side of Yonge Street, but the really great neighbourhoods and the things that make Toronto special are west of Yonge.

So, sorry St. Lawrence Market, Distillery District, Church and Wellesley, Corktown, Little India, Danforth, Beaches et al., but the west is the best.

Though it is a pretty view. Certainly.

yup, the eastside is Not the best side.

King Street West.
Queen Street West.
Little Italy
Entertainment District.
Chinatown
The Annex
Kensington Market
Bloor West Village
The Junction.
High Park
Parkdale
Kingsway
St.Clair West /Corsa Italia

Still, thats a nice picture of the eastside of downtown. Makes Toronto look like a bigger city.

West side has a good 50 years on the east side. East sides future is a lot brighter with much better development

Agreed, the east side has so much more potential then the west side and can learn from the wests numerous development mistakes. In 20 years that whole West is the Best will have little merit.

And the Kingsway????? LOL.

Oh, geez....what's wrong with the Kingsway?

Ok, what I should have done is include, Bloor West Village, High Park and Kingsway on the same line. They are all pretty much the same neighborhood and all abut on High Park.

The greatness of Toronto's west end has to do with its numerous and distinct organic neighbourhoods. It's not a top down thing.

Having said that, I was in City Place the other day, and I actually think it's kinda cool for a condo district.

That looks very Vancouver-ish to me. Good to see Toronto starting to utilize its waterfront better.
