They could have at least done something creative with the landscaping.

Why did they take out all the on street parking along pacific? Is that massive lawn necessary?

It's an airfield for World War 2 Mustangs and Spitfires.

I think any amount of green is a welcome sight, as long as they can keep it green.

A welcome sight? Is the huge park along the sea wall on the other side of the street not enough?

I don't think "any" green space is a benefit. It has to fit in and make sense. This doesn't. If The city is hell bent on shoving green space everywhere to look like a "green" city they could've done something a bit more interesting here, as mentioned above

It's just holding space for the eventual streetcar, nothing permanent.

That said I don't see a streetcar happening in the next 10 years, so...

If it's for the streetcar, it's basically permanent. We won't that project in at least 20 years.

I know that. But that doesn't stop them for having a lane for street parking in the meantime

I saw a bunch of teenage boys skateboarding and jumping up those round wooden benches yesterday evening. I'm pretty sure the new benches are already pretty scratched up by now. The mentality of these boarders.....

Thanks for the pics; I like the lighting too. What's nice is it will continue through to Nelson Street to tie in with The Arc, once that project is complete. The overall paving scheme will continue through as well.

I noticed last night that the lighting display had a gap in the middle - only the top 5 or so and bottom 5 or so floors were lit, then later, all of them were lit.

Just wondering if anyone has noticed if the lights are programmed to change?

While I really like this building and how it turned out with the dark glass and white, I do find it ironic, every time I see this thread, that a black, white and grey building was once going to be called "The Colours".

I don't think it was. The Colours of Urban Living (by James Cheng) was renamed as Panorama, and then redesigned as The Arc. It's on the site on the other side of the Cambie ramp.

It's shame that every single retail space on the ground floor is still unoccupied. I also saw some homeless people camping in the tunnel during rain. I hope something would open there to bring some life to the street level.
