Yes, I had those quarter-million trees in mind as well. Developers tend to make really lousy arborists.
Goes without saying that different trees attain different heights and shapes upon maturity. Eight columnars are obviously a different proposition than eight open-headed or pyramidal varieties.
And of course, these measures are relative to the lifespan of a tree. A gingko can live 1,000 years, a maple or oak might live 200-400 years, a pine half that, a locust half that again, and a flowering pear a quarter of that yet again.
