Fascinating, otherworldly and bleak.
I don't want to inordinately bash on Iqaluit because every place has its particular limitation, but my views on this are quite similar to his.
It's not so much about Iqaluit as it is about Canada.
I was not familiar with what Nuuk in Greenland looks like so I did a search. It's a world apart from Iqaluit.
That said, these are just two cities but why I am critical about Canada is not because of the Nuuk-Iqaluit comparison, but of the comparison between most of our resource-based northern communities and those in countries north of the Baltic Sea. Ever been to the equivalent of Timmins or Fort McMurray in Norway, Sweden, or Finland? If you had, you'd know what I mean.
