Isnt this like the same latitude as Reykjavik? Would that be a fair comparison regarding landscape?

There's something you don't see everyday. I liked the Inuit text/font the best. I'm thinking for the first 10 minutes it's interesting and then you get bored. At least Montreal is only 2,000 miles south.

In the same way New York and Rome are at similar latitudes (they're different climates). Europe is much warmer for its latitude due to the North Atlantic currents.

I don't want to inordinately bash on Iqaluit because every place has its particular limitation, but my views on this are quite similar to his.

It's not so much about Iqaluit as it is about Canada.

I was not familiar with what Nuuk in Greenland looks like so I did a search. It's a world apart from Iqaluit.

That said, these are just two cities but why I am critical about Canada is not because of the Nuuk-Iqaluit comparison, but of the comparison between most of our resource-based northern communities and those in countries north of the Baltic Sea. Ever been to the equivalent of Timmins or Fort McMurray in Norway, Sweden, or Finland? If you had, you'd know what I mean.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Iqaluit is somewhere I've always wanted to visit, even though I've never seen it before. I just like the idea of the remoteness and cold, particularly in the winter months. I shall have to look more into the price of flights there and make a trip.
