Like new, except that it isn't. But of course we'll all go along with the NHL and pretend that it's new so that the Saddledome can be denigrated as the oldest building in the league, like it's some creaky old junkpile.

The only way you get a new arena in Manhattan is if you build it under a skyscraper or over a raildeck.

After the renovation, MSG is looking almost brand new, with the exception of the exterior.

And honestly, the exterior isn't even that bad. There is certainly worse.

^ The point is that, as a matter of fact, Saddledome will not be the oldest rink in the NHL next season. There will be two that are older.

Technically speaking, you're right.

But Calgary is the only NHL city I'm aware of who are currently looking to start building a new facility because their arena is so dated (Maybe Phoenix too, but that's a entirely different issue).

My company worked on that condo - the units facing the field were more expensive than the others.

The building also has a "sports box" that residents can rent

As far as capacity goes, 30,000 expandable to 40,000 makes good sense... maybe the city itself could use a larger one for certain big events, but for the Stampeders and CSEG specifically, 30,000 is not bad as it keeps supply at least somewhat in check. I'd liked to have at least seen them match McMahon's capacity (35K), but this is a decent number too.

I presume this is a fixed-roof structure?

I agree these new graphics show a much improved layout.
One thing I would note is there appears to be corporate boxes at one end only and none along the sides. This could be worked out tho I'm sure.
