The worst part is the journal story gives the total budget, so people think this is new, not a few years old already. What they should do is say the last tender is being awarded. But you need to stir the pot because Allison has pissed so many people off already. Lets see which opposition members refuse to move in.

Well a redesign of the podium it looks like, now that I've seen renderings. Still trying to deal with the LRT tunnel is why.

I'm having a hard time visualizing this...so you're saying they're looking at a freestanding oval CRU on the corner of Jasp/109 St with the main building sitting on the other side of the LRT tunnel? Or am I way off-base?

I'm terrified by this.

How long until procura applies to have a drive through for this free standing building?

The drive-through can easily be accommodated directly above the tunnel. You shouldn't be posting these ideas publicly.

'We're trying to get out of everyone's way'
City aims to get Jasper Avenue work back on track by spring

Gordon Kent
Edmonton Journal

Temporary pedestrian walkways create a maze on Jasper Avenue between 100th Street and 102nd Street.

The overhaul of Jasper Avenue should be back on schedule in March after the number of tradespeople at the project was almost doubled, city officials said Wednesday.

Construction on the north side of Jasper from 100th to 102nd streets, which has cut traffic to one lane in each direction, was supposed to have been finished by November so the road could reopen to four lanes for the winter...

That early october winter and september rains screwed up surface construction all over the city. For comparison sakes, we were paving on my site into late October last year (2011)...it might even of been the first week of november. Combine that with a very wet early summer and it was a disasterous year for civic infrastructure. 2013 is going to be nuts.

Unfortunatly it's the reality of work in Edmonton. Our construction season is stupid short and we have clay all over the place. It's why it cost so much here to build roads.

agreed... our land division lost a full 35 days of last year's construction season to rain.

Speaking of truck nuts, I bought a pair for my smart car but they're dragging on the ground.
