From Ontario and Figured I'd comment . . .

BC also has a few fast food chains that don't have a strong presence in the rest of Canada such as Chipotle and Krispy Kreme.

Personally, some chains aren't as exciting when you consider the local options. Red Lobster might satisfy your seafood craving if you live in the prairies, but there are so many great local options that will do it better, cheaper, and fresher in BC.
Can confirm there are lots of Chipotle and Krispy Kreme in Ontario, particularly TO

I used red lobster as an example because Ive had a GC in my wallet for over 2 years that I haven’t been able to use due to the border being closed.

BC used to have a decent presence of big American chains such as Tony Roma’s, Hooters, Applebee’s, TGI Friday’s, Macaroni Grill, Rainforest Cafe… but as of the last two decades have all disappeared despite thriving in Alberta and Ontario
Honestly most of these aren't thriving in Ontario - besides a Hooters in DT Toronto I can't recall seeing basically any of them on a regular basis, def not Rainforest Cafe though I am not longing for that . . .

I find it interesting that the mall currently has 2 dental clinics, because there's going to be a third one located in the plaza (Street Level).

I popped into Brentwood tonight around 7 pm, parking was hard to find it was packed full, after some driving, we found a spot. Despite there being no actual restaurants to go to yet, the OEB is only open till 3 pm, and the tables food court is always busy, once some actual restaurants open, its going to be a good place in the evening. Due to the weather and lack of things to do it was quiet other than the food court.

They have also put up graphic wraps on most of the empty spaces so it looks much better now, and its decked out for Halloween. L.L. Bean signage is up.

I think most people are there for the theatre and Rec Room.

Could you tell how much of the plaza frontage they are taking?
ie how much off-centre was the sign?

Edit - just looked at your Oct 1st pic. Looks like there are 2 units, and they have the left one. ... and saw your coment in the retail thread - so 2/3 available.

There are now 5 places for coffee and not 1 tiny retail for real food , such as Kin's Market, especially these coffee shops are huge and prominent locations. Do we need to drink that much coffee? If no real food to buy, agree should be at least more variety in the food court.

Would Kin's work with the lease rates Brentwood is charging?

Does not have to be prime location. What about the old Starbucks vacated adjacent to London Drug? It is at the back of the mall, also has easy access to parking. London Drug itself would bring in lots of traffic.

the London Drugs since the rest of the mall has been much busier than it used to be, there are at times lineups at the cashier's these days.

At the end of the video, the old mall is labelled "Phase 2 Retail" .
So they have bumped up the reno of the mall - not sure what that means for other towers over the mall.

They said that market conditions could speed up the development of the "final" NE quadrant. I think they'll probably most likely keep the same tower placement that was in the master plan?

I guess there isn't any towers directly over the mall section?

is it just me that wishes all these buildings would be connected to the SkyTrain station with above ground greenways/land bridges so that pedestrians could avoid crossing those wide, busy streets?

creating a nice park like setting connecting the whole neighbourhood. and with the station having a mezzanine level, it would be viable.
