The only problem here is the lack of walkability - I'd say between the bus station and king and queen it's just not.. an attractive walkable area - the abomination of buildings between james and caroline just makes it very awkward - so while these buildings may look nice and big it's still not.. an area of town anyone really wants to be in. not currently anyways. Only reason I am ever there is because I am waiting for the aldershot go bus.

Esp. with the rampant amt of pan handlers which seem to be localized in this very SPECIFIC spot of the city.

Imo they shoulda gone with the original city hall proposal and had everything before city hall open - it just feels so.. cluttered this part of the city.

I believe you're referring to RBC Bank Plaza which has real gold baked into the glass, 2,500 oz's worth.

Have to wonder if Trump ever considered making an offer for it (with other peoples' money, of course )

Imagine it emblazoned with capital T, R, U, M, and P across the top

a bit complex - but you can add an "h" at the end of the URL of imgur uplaods which reduces it to a more normal size. example:

A faculty friend told me this weekend that 1 bedroom rents would be $2000. He also said that units would be assigned by faculty, rather than some sort of free for all, which I found a little interesting.

Makes sense. Ensures that this won't end up dominated by engineering, business, humanities, medicine, etc. and instead remain a mix.

I wonder if residences on campus are allocated that way? I probably used to know, but I'm old! lol

Not sure what you're implying by this, but university (including grad) students tend to have very little money -- low income, high debt, high tuition, etc.

As a current grad student, I can confirm I would never be able to afford a $2000 rent on my stipend

Most students pay their rent on a line of credit or OSAP loans, and other grants. So actually university students have quite a bit of money to spend.
