Thank you! I spend a lot of time in Austin for work. Plus, don't tell anyone in SA (they get a bit snippy), but, there are far more interesting projects going on up there (Austin) than in my beloved SA.

Even though I spend a lot of time in Austin, my "official" residence is in SA. However, I have a project in Nashville - which will be my home for the next few months.

Saw those. I really hope they keep that bright white line from ground floor to crown. Also it occurred to me that the Gensler Austin style — essentially stacked blocks — will complement the Independent style. From a ways off, the two buildings might look very similar.

Also: to me 600 Guad is a test of the FAA hypothesis — if FAA guidelines are really and truly keeping buildings limited to certain heights throughout DT, why is this one still living large at 840?

I hope the parking podium gets some final tweaks to its siding. It looks fortress like. Otherwise, the building looks pretty darn nice.

"Pretty darn soon" is of course, a subjective period of time. But the site plan still seems to have a ways to go before it is approved. This hasn't gone to the Design Commission yet for the needed density bonus. No demo permits have been filed for the hotel, and the hotel just recently updated their website about bookings for SXSW 2019.

Would love to see some brick implemented in this design to lighten it up and compliment the building beside it. But I'm not overly worried about it.

This thing is a behemoth. It needs a name or nickname. I can't even imagine how much that residential will go for. Especially the penthouse.

I'm not all that worried about the post office site being a huge building now that this is going up.

Those new renderings are great. Honestly, I had some reservations about this design for a moment at first. However, the first George Blume post, I just realized, shows the south view, or the one we'll see from the lake, Auditorium Shores, etc. It looks so good! The recessed balconies are shaped in a very interesting way. I feel like the recessed-balcony trend started by the W is something I can really get into here.

It's 61 actual floors but the crown at the top is the size of 3-4 additional floors. This one is right on cue, no worries.

But it was 65 "actual" floors and 67 before that. At least George Blume said the height height was still "840ish". As long as it pokes above 800' I'm happy. But I would still be happy (albeit disappointed) if it only comes in as a new tallest around 700'.
Most significant towers seem to have a value engineering phase after the first renderings are released. So far this one hasn't been significantly value engineered.
