This project is officially underway! Keep an eye out for updates to come.

"officially underway" not sure if that means they pulled permits or are beginning demo now??
Offically underway means that the calendar plan starts now

During last Saturday's DVC meeting, Nick Wood, the attorney representing the developer, said that the project had "closed," meaning I assume that all the financing was finally in place, and that work would start imminently.

Should I still be confused......32 story mixed use tower....Is that 32 stories total with mixed use in it OR 32 stories of rooms with other floors to make up 37 stories?

I'm thinking it may be a typo. Medistar just stated a couple months ago that the apartment floor count was increased by 7 floors for a total of 32 floors of apartments and that's what Medistar's website still currently states.

I'll see if I can get a definitive answer from someone.

I'm not nearly as involved in keeping up with things as many others. Thank you for your efforts. Along those lines, is this another situation with potential imminent ground breaking yet we don't even have a current rendering available?

The latest renderings we have seen are current and shouldn't change. It's just going to be a matter of what the final floor turns out to be.

They submitted a demo permit around 2 weeks ago which requires a 30-day hold before they can start the demo. Some potholing permits were submitted last Friday to asses underground utilities. I noticed the last couple of tower projects (Moontower and Sky) took right around 2 months to break ground after potholing was completed. So, I'm going with an April groundbreaking.

Crested, I was thinking the same thing, as they did cover that it was 37 floors recently. I am hoping it is a typo and didn't include retail and parking floors. FINGERS CROSSED for 37!!!

I was just cross-checking Layton's post compared to what's on Medistar's website. Both say 362 apartments, but with Medistar's website stating 32 floors of apartments. That's what i'm going with, but I guess we'll find out soon

In addition, Layton says second tower is 21 stories, but Medistar says it is 19 with a partial 20th story.

I believe I may be wrong on the demo permit. I don't think there is a 30-day hold. Went by this morning and there is a lot of equipment on site and they appear to have started some demo work.

Went by today and checked out the site. They are doing more than I thought and are in the process of re-locating the vegetation, removing the pavers (and saving them it appears for future re-use), removing blacktop and other site-prep.

Wasn't there an issue with Central Station having been improved with federal funds in the last decade and that they couldn't just demo it all? Maybe it was stipulated that they have to save or reuse a bunch of this stuff, otherwise the City or somehow the developer would need to pay back the feds.

Central Station was renovated a while ago as part of I think it was American Rescue and Recovery Act funds... I think paying FTA back some part of that was part of the deal, but I don't recall it was that much money compared to a tower or even the land cost.

Regardless, it would be great to re-use some of those materials. No sense in throwing it all away if it is pleasing and usable.
