Any idea what these are about?
The Westside Trail ribbon cutting is tomorrow. I take "another biz relocation" just as a general statement that Atlanta is an attractive place for biz relocation.

I heard tomorrow we may get public details on what is planned by the Gulch, Philips and MB Stadium. There is definitely another corporate relocation going to be announced soon. I think that is what he meant by coming soon.

Ideally it would be AIG finally making an announcement?

According Bisnow, AIG was scouting for 600,000 square feet. I wonder if this will jump start another project in Midtown, Buckhead, or the Perimeter.

Well, there's the Portman 600,000 sq. ft office towers in Tech Square (expected to break ground soon).

Also, I believe it was Selig that's planning a $1 billion dollar development in Midtown with over 600,000 sq. ft. of office space for a "mystery company."

Or we can all put our big boy (or girl) pants on and not allow some stupid bickering to bother us. Good grief.

Toughen up buttercup.

As for development news, Mayor Reed better have the goods.

Or we could be mature and stop bickering or take the bickering to private messages.

Agreed! Thank you!

In other news, I just let my Chronicle subscription lapse. Does anyone want to share today's article on Atlantic Station?

The gist is that Hines is going to allow stores to have more freedom on architecture of their stores to create less of a town square feel and more organic. They are also going to demolish the strip restaurant to allow the park to be expanded.

They also completed purchase of more of the empty lots around Atlantic station, including purchase of the pinnacle site where the Cirque is now.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is just regurgitating from an article in the AJC earlier this month.

Was this the "big" announcement the Mayor discussed in his tweet?

"Let's just keep doing the work. @ATLairport expansion today, @AtlantaBeltLine announcement tomorrow, another biz relocation coming soon."

He was referring to the beginning of the erection of the canopies at the airport, the Beltline westside trail 'grand opening', but he didn't specify a timeline on the biz relocation announcement, just 'coming soon'.

Did I read somewhere else that the plans/renderings for the GULTCH would be revealed today? Surprised Reed didn't mention that in his tweet if that were true.

Atlanta Flyover

Hey everyone! Happy to see Atlanta is still booming and construction seems unabated. I appreciate everyone's hard work here on the forum keeping the steady stream of updates flowing. The amount of research conducted and the passion with which we debate find just proves Atlanta is a diverse and dynamic American City with a bright future ahead.

I was flying west out of ATL around August 25th and shot this video out the window of a DL 757. After looking at it a couple more times I felt I had to share it with the forum as it gives a great perspective of how much Atlanta has grown and what is currently being built.

It begins around the Dekalb County Jail complex and continues: PDK, Chamblee, Brookhaven, Lenox/Phipps, Buckhead Village, Vinings/Cumberland, Sun Trust Park, Dobbins AFB and Smyrna.

Video Link

If someone can remind me how to embed images I can post some most excellent stills I've already pulled. Sorry, it's been a while...

I think that I was more pleasantly surprised with the final product from The Atlantic House than the Icon's overall look at this point. We will see, I keep hoping it will get more appealing.
