I can imagine the St. Paul one will start up soon (the smaller timber one)
As for any other ones, maybe WTATP3 or one of the smaller approved towers? (like Elta or Bertram BC Housing)

I feel a bunch of the bigger developments will be scared away by a bunch of the recent headlines, regardless if the statistics from BC Stats are true or not (I personally trust StatCan more)

Some may still go through? It's hard to tell right now, maybe if we beat estimates for the 2026 census, the developments might continue forward (which feels a little unlikely)

Idk guess place your bet on the final 2026 number for city proper and metro (I'm thinking 170,500 and 254,000)

As is, though, it's a pretty shaky time for Kelowna's future highrise development. Still, laughable with the 10 years claim, omfg

Recently approved Coronation rental tower, BC Housing Bertram Tower, and St Paul mass timber all progressing to break ground this year.

Most of the other towers approved will be on hold until market conditions approve. Several going back to council soon for re-approval to extend the two year permits. You’ll see those popping up in the news soon.

There has been some geotechnical action recently on the BC Housing Bertram site.

Damn we need more mid rises downtown to fill in some of the gaps and add layers.

^420 posts, nice!

Kelowna definitely needs more midrise development, and it's going to start happening. I would say the area east of Richter would be ideal to start doing medium density development, but I don't want to see how that fight will go when it starts to happen.

shoutout to the midrise density that's happenin' at Richter/Clement, really packs density into that sector - if only they could do that in Cultural District & actual Downtown

UBCO Tower Update! Looks like they're nearin' the fourth floor!

Shot of the skyline along Westside Rd. (honestly my favourite angle of the skyline because it actually contains the Landmark Buildings, and actually looks somewhat dense! If it weren't this STUPID ASS TREE this shot would've been my fav shot of the city since that really old shot of the North End cluster from like 201X)

Shot of Water Street By The Park (this thing is wild to be right next to)

Also a shot of Kiwanis Tower, in honour of the 50th anniversary of Kelowna's first highrise

Thank you for the updates on the UBCO tower. This one is going to be fun to watch rise in person.

I'm still optimistic we see 3 other towers breaking ground shortly.

BC Builds Tower on St Paul is currently doing test piling and are active on the site:

Coronation rental tower is actively piling and has activity daily:

The third is BC Housing tower which according to provincial media releases was not impacted by budget cuts and should be proceeding this year.

Kinda knew that the St Paul non-profit was soon but Elta? Dang! (Also didn't realize I walked right by that site without realizing it was Elta)
