Our rooftop camera has been pointed at Tower 8 for most of the day. It's not on it right now since it's looking out on the city, but it's routinely pointed over at the building site. Feel free to pull this up (http://youtah.com/utwxcams.php) and you can see where it's looking. Middle row of cameras, first one is usually the one that will be pointed at the site.

All right! I’m kinda pinching myself. I can’t believe so many projects are coming together at the same time. Still crossing my fingers on these projects but most of them seem really solid at this point. I hope we get some news this year on the 370 by Held properties.

Great find Viper......

I assume their goal is for 2022 phase 1 and 2025 phase 2 for completion, or starting?

Great to see downtown finally expanding to the west. Need more density and towers around the arena.

I found this little blurb from Brandon Fugal's twitter account. It supports Makid's post about 370 millennium.

Is there a 41-story tower headed to Downtown SLC???

How tall would we expect a 41-story tower to be? I know that various factors affect this, but any estimates? I really hope this is true....

Brandon Fugal, the one that posted about the proposed 41 story 370 Millennium Tower said he estimates about 575-600 feet tall

Where do you see this? I had chalked up his 41 story comment to fat fingers and he really meant 21 or something.

edit: Nevermind.. I see that he responded to his tweet. Interesting. I really hope he has a real pulse on this thing....

The 370 Millennium was proposed as a mixed use. If it’s more hotel and residential I’d say closer to 500 ft give or take some.

I don’t use Twitter, is there away to message this Brandon Fugal guy? He might be a good addition to this forum.

I thought I might as well ask him how tall it was so I tweeted at him and he responded. Hopefully it will really be that tall.

That's a terrible location for a new tallest.

I respectfully disagree it would really expand our skyline south. Plus there are tons of open lots across the street and along 400s. I believe if this is built those lots would get developed soon after to fill in the skyline. There is no such thing as bad place for the new tallest. Build it and let the rest fill in later, it is time for 400s to get taller.

I agree, not the place I would like to see it. It at least for the next decade will stick out awkwardly. That area does have a lot of development potential, so hopefully that will help. With that said tower height isn’t much of a thing for me. I would take two 20 stories over this. I know this forum loves height so I am happy if you are.

Also, if it helps hide the ugly borg cube courthouse across the street I am all for it.

I thought the same thing, but depending on your viewing angle it might work nicely. Similar to how 99 west really stands out nicely from a northern viewpoint. If this building was remotely narrow it could be a stunner from the a southwest vantage. I’ll take it for sure even though it’s a long shot.

I'll take it! A 575-600' tower would be taller than anything I would have expected in the next 10-15 years. I would be happy with a new tallest even it's only 425 feet. I would have considered a 500' propsal, anywhere in the city possible but unlikley. I would consider this a dream proposal, especialy if it is a mixed use building. It's tall, it includes residential, it will proably include restaurants and some type of nightlife componant...

I don't think the location is unreasonable at all. It's only a blcok away from Main street, near most of the major hotels and it will help fill the skyline gap between the Wells Fargo Center and the Grand America. If I was to pick the location for a new tallest I would of course pick the Carol's Jr site but I'm fine with this location.
I just hope this information is true.
