I may be in the minority, but I prefer BIG’s design. That being said, I’d like to see something totally new and dramatic.

This was sort of tucked away in a previous article:

"Silverstein has penned a new memoir, “The Rising: The Twenty-Year Battle to Rebuild the World Trade Center,” billed as “an epic tale of business, politics, and engineering by the man who spent two decades working to make it happen.” A reception is planned for its release date, Sept. 10.

An announcement about 2 World Trade Center would be a compelling storyline for the solemn 9/11 commemoration the following day."

The newest design is a good homage to the original 2WTC.

If there is, it won't be anything too dramatic. Even now, Foster's design is overall consistent with his original plan for the site. Swap the diamond with multiple terraces.

It really retains that bulk from the South flank. Will really stand out once complete, adding a lot to the WTC Mass bulk. This is a big one!

Does it have to be so boxy?? One of the greatest features of the original 2 WTC design was the diamonds tied into the isosceles triangles of 1WTC. The massing is quote nice and the setbacks and balconies give yet another glass tower some decent texture. That top box begs for a something A LOT more creative that will tie into the rest of the WTC complex as a whole.

I actually like that one better. Now imagine it with a spire, similar to the original FT spire. There would be "twins" of a sort back at the WTC.

If this comes to fruition, I’d also like to see FiDi greatly pedestrianized and see A LOT of residential construction. FiDi has the potential to be gorgeous due to the waterfront and the European-style streetscape.

Well, it’ll be here. As always, and as with any tower, it’s subject to revisions in one form or another. A signed tenant can hold a lot of sway, and in this case potentially one that could take a HUGE amount of the space.

I like the massing and height but need to see a large model of it as the building would appear when built. I don't like the trees way up there in the breaks but whatever.
