This development has to be the largest footprint in some time no?

Cobalt is a larger lot, same with The Design District. This might win for a single tower though. Atleast for now.

City Centre is probably the largest lot for an active proposal with 4 towers proposed.

A google search tells me 616 units... so at an average of 1.5 bodies per unit, that should add an extra 900+ people to the downtown core.

Seriously, in the next year or so - whichever major grocery chain sets up shop in the core will be doing good business. People gotta eat and many would take full advantage of a store within walking distance.

Project page on Urban Toronto shows 635 units: https://urbantoronto.ca/database/pro...s-condos.48703

Usually condos I believe are estimated at approximately 1.6 people per unit I believe so would be closer to 1000 people. I'm always forget that person estimate though.

I wanted to get some shots from James Street, but it was way too windy to keep flying.

Taken today.

It looks like they'll have to extend the cranes soon.

I forgot to point out, but I never really noticed that the eastern part of the building is not as wide as the main tower on James.

Likely to allow for proper tower separation for the property that is currently a parking lot. You'll notice it becomes thinner right at the property line of the existing building.

A regular reminder that this project has more units in it than Cobalt does in it's two towers combined.. really shows how much of a beast this guy is.
