I spoke to someone on another forum and they say its to depart at roughly 2000 local (800pm).

Watching it on the webcam it appears to be getting ready right now.

It is 9.00 PM and nothing in flightaware.com. Aircraft was moved a bit further, nose opened again and now it is closed. There is a good possibility that it will leave tonight.

That one barely would fit in Commonwealth Stadium. That means no one could take this puppy home and store it in their back yard!!!

Looks like Jazz and Thomas Cook are partnering up. I don't know how well they'll do. I have read some bad reviews about Thomas Cook aircraft being tight for space. Still i wish them luck as i'm sure we'll see at least one of the 757's here for some sun flights. I can't recall if i've ever seen a passenger 757 at YEG.

I believe I flew on a 757 with Air Transat to Cancun back in 2007.

Did Harmony (HMY) fly to Cancun from Edmonton back when it still existed? I know I flew on one of their 757s from Calgary to Cancun.

Skyservice had 757s and they flew them out of Edmonton. That was probably the one you went on.

I believe they only served YYC/YVR... we were to have taken one of their 757s from YVR to CAN but it was hit 1hr prior to dept. by a service truck. We were put on some aero mexico DC9... i drowned my fears in free booze.

Fear of the DC-9? I would have loved to take another ride in that old bird!

^I have never heard so many noises from a plane and the engines were so damn loud since we were in the back of the back.

Luckily we had our friends Tecate and Dos Equis with us.

They served YYZ for some time too. I remember seeing a small sign for Harmony at YEG (directing a person to their check-in counter) for a short period of time...probably 5 years ago. I thought was strange because I don't think they ever flew there!

Harmony was such a pleasure to fly with and I loved the story behind it...

I have had the luck with engine noise. LOT's Ilyushin 62 flew to YEG when charters to WAW started in the late 80's. I guess the only other comparison is the VC-10.

I've never had the chance to fly a DC-10 or L1011 Tristar although i would guess the engine noise above the fuselage would be less noticeable.

757's were regulars to YEG till last year. The only 757's to YEG now are FedEx's ''new'' B 757-200 Freighters on the YEG-MEM route 5 days a week.

-SkyService flew them on there sun flights from YEG.
-HMY operated YEG-OGG with them in there small time at YEG.
-Air Transat operated them into YEG until A310's replaced the 757's
-Canada 3000 operated them to YEG on various routes
-Royal operated 757's to YEG aswell
-Northwest sometimes stops at YEG with a 757-200 or stretched 300 in the summer months on the DTW-ANC route for fuel during ''hot'' conditions.

The 757 is a powerful plane with huge climb. I flew the Skyservice 757 to Cancun and it seem effortless for the aircraft when we took off. There are a couple of U tube videos where it goes almost vertical like a jet fighter.

As far as DC9s I remember flying an Aircanada DC9 to Vancouver about 20 years ago. Coming back we must of dropped a few feet while landing.
