I'm a 5 minute drive from Oakville Town Hall, but I've never called it Town Hall. It seems almost foolish to call it that. City Hall rolls off the tongue better and it's the building that represents a municipality the size of a city. I mean, how often is the term "Town Hall" used, even for actual towns? City Hall just sounds so much better.

Those Calgary night shots from above look special. Had to do a double take. Thought it was TO for a second.

Oh, I also see Scotia Plaza and the Waterlinks at Pier 27 buildings, the ones at the foot of Yonge street, facing the lake.
Impressive. I could see like three more I recognize the shape of but couldn't tell you the name of, but the vast majority just like look rectangles to me and I wonder why they didn't make models of some of the more unique buildings and make them more prominent.

Was on the 69th floor of Scotia Plaza today. Not sure why it was hazy. Morning started out crisp and the whole day was blazing sun. Would really have liked to observe Niagara across the lake.

Had fun with my colleagues guessing which node of buildings was what community. There's a guy from Vancouver that's been with us a few weeks and I think he's only been in TO a couple of years. He had a surprising amount of knowledge about a few of the clusters and individual buildings.

My Waterloo colleagues knew more than I expected. And when I go there and go up buildings they have to play tour guide for me because I can't even tell which direction Kitchener is.

I'm originally from a town of about 10k so the term Town Hall definitely feels natural to me. In fact, it took quite awhile to get used to hearing City Hall after relocating. If you grew up in a city rather than a town, that term was probably just mentally instilled at a young age.

Yeah, I can see that. I'm also conditioned from hearing it in TV and film.

The big parking lot you found is exactly where you park, but you have to pay.

There's also a bus that goes up the mountain (11 from Mont-Royal metro). You can go by Bixi too — there's a station at the far western edge of the park at the corner of Remembrance and Côte-des-Neiges.

But yeah, walking is the best way to go, and there are many different routes you can take up to the belvedere. I personally really enjoy going through Outremont and then walking up through the Mount Royal Cemetery.

Looked like a great time. I always thought SP was 68 floors. Did you get any shots of Sky Tower?

I didn’t even know what you were talking about! I’m not as into this kind of stuff like you guys are.

I originally thought our event would be at the venue called Sixty Eight. We got off on the 68th and the concierge took us into that space… but then we turned the corner and went up the stairs and our little event took place in the corner of the 69th. Like the rest of that floor is basically cordoned off storage and probably mechanical.

I really thought I was going to get a panorama but we were pretty limited.

Gosh, I remember seeing that maquette before the tower was built. I think it would have been 1982 or 1983. I was with BNS at the time.

I still can't get used to the CIBC tower without the antenna (Montreal).

Megadude, what is at the top of the Scotia Plaza? Restaurant?

I though the building went up only 68 floors.
