I take great pleasure in the agony of one of my co-workers who is an Oilers fan. When they beat the Flames in that season opener he was already talking about them winning the cup. I guess McJesus can't play forward, goalie, coach and defense after all.

How will the Canucks respond after a let down against Detroit? The good teams usually follow up a loss with a win.

On paper the Flames are the much better team, so should be an easy win for them...

Yes!!!

The Canucks look like a completely different team this year. Will they crash and burn? Maybe. For now it's fun to watch.

Oilers fans are used to failure by now. The organization has become the biggest joke in the NHL. Look where all those years of tanking got you. You can draft all the future all stars you want, doesn't change the fact they're playing in Edmonton Your cups in the mullet years are irrelevant to the younger generation that can't wait to get traded out of that burg of a city. Keep celebrating failure though, it gives you edmontonians the right to call yourself "true fans"

Not sure how the Canucks survived that second, Calgary was dominating the shit out of them. Decent game by the Canucks, definitely got a couple lucky bounces there though.

Detroit in town tomorrow, we need to get 2 points out of that, time for the Flames to start moving up the standings!

Yes! The deadlock for final wildcard spot is brutal.

As the season wears on I think they will fall back, they are definitely doing better than expected so far though!

Saw this graphic this morning. Four Pacific teams with Philly at the top by a good margin, just as you'd expect.

A lot less fights this year so far, no surprise though.

Less fighting means better players who can skate fast and avoid hits. You see more fights in baseball theses days then in Hockey.

Mcdavid's probably already the best player in the world. In 3 v 3 overtime it's not even debatable though. I've never seen someone beat professional players so effortlessly with speed like that.

Side note: Tampa Bay is ridiculous right now. 4 goals in 2 minutes. What the Fuck.

Yup. This should have been the Leafs year, but there is no way we make it past them in the second round.

And as shitty as the Oilers have been they're only 5 pts behind the Flamers and Nucks, with one game in hand. Clearly their season is over.
