Poor squares. Have to settle for curvies' leftovers. It's a nice, simple tower with great glass but, it's still one where the architect pushed it a little too far. The outward slope of the concave points looks odd.

In person the outward slope looks kick ass. It takes the already dynamic facade to another level.

For me, maybe I'm strange, but I still think Suncor looks the best in our skyline. I kind of see it as our Scotia Plaza. A zeitgeist for a certain time that probably won't be revisited, and yet captures in a well executed way that style.

I gotta agree honestly.....I find the Suncor centre to be my favourite set of towers in Calgary. Honestly one of the best, if not the best granite skyscraper office towers in Canada too.... The shape of the floor plates and the angular facades along with the matching pitched roof makes it an impressional, great addition to Calgary's skyline. Looking back to photos from the eighties and nineties, these two buildings looked great in the skyline, and still do.

I think it is very nice as well.

Kind of reminds me of what a building would look like if the Bow and Brookfield had a baby. Mom's curves and dad's complexion and hair...

What building is that going up behind the bell tower? Looks like the hotel in Edmonton's Ice district.

It's the Caddillac Fairview Tower, built in '81.....the rooftop is being renovated for HVAC or something.

Did it get new glass too? That doesn't look like 80's glass.

That's pretty crazy. The glass is very 80s. However, none of the replacements panels over the years match the original or each other. The photo captures the half dozen to a dozen different shades and gives a great impression of modern glass.

They are putting an enormous CF Eaton Centre sign on top of the tower. Same will be done to the other tower. Scary.

I was going to Union to catch a train (I did)....yea the weather isn't too bad, but it's cold. Massey Tower will be pretty interesting as part of the background to Old City Hall. These photos were taken before noon....unsurprising that the streets weren't that busy.
