Greetings from Pasadena

Hello all. After stalking...oops...I mean lurking since early 2005, I am officially a member!! I am addicted to this site, and find myself taking quick peeks at work, as well as spending half of my time off of working catching up on the latest in skyscraper development in the greatest city in the world (Chicago of course!!). Thanks to all of you for keeping a homesick native Chicagoan updated during my exhile in California!!!!

p.s. did anyone notice in the SunTimes article from a few days ago regarding the Children's Memorial Hospital that they gave the wrong address?

"Residents of nearby high-rises are irate about plans to light up the 288-bed facility at 211 E. Chestnut"

I do believe this is on Chicago Avenue, no?

I can't believe this weather. I'm on vacation this week, all set to go downtown for a walk and take pictures, and it's raining every day.

There are 2 Revcon cranes on site for Museum Park Place South. We should have another construction start soon.

Future anchor tenant?

http://chicagorealestatedaily.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?id=27191

DraftFCB extends Streeterville lease
By Eddie Baeb

DraftFCB has extended the lease of its Streeterville office to 2014, positioning the Chicago-based marketing firm to consolidate its two offices and become a candidate for a new tower.

The move lines up the expiration date of DraftFCB’s 83,000-square-foot lease at 633 N. St. Clair St. with that of the company’s other office, 101 E. Erie St. in River North, where the firm leases 170,000 square feet. In as little as three years, sources say, the firm could start looking for about 250,000 square feet, which is enough to anchor a new building.

^^^What is Wolf Point expected to be in floor area? Would they need several anchor tenants, or just one?

There's no information on this "supposed-proposed" project.

I noticed the mistake and sent a message to the writer (Fran Spielman) at the Sun Times about it. Yes, the new hospital will be on Chicago AV.

Thanks, I thought so. That is where the Carriage House bldg used to be, if I remember correctly. My friend lived there in the mid-90's. This bldg. is a nice replacement. Should look nice....hope the lights make it!!

COMMUNITY MEETING FOR 111 SOUTH PEORIA
Wednesday, November 28, 2007
7:00 PM
Reserve, 858 W. Lake Street

The developer is proposing two, 12-story residential condominium buildings consisting of 146 units and 164 parking spaces.

This development would require a change in zoning from the existing DS-3 zoning district to a DX-5 proposed zoning district.

The owner and architect will be present to discuss the project and answer your questions and concerns.

The pit, for the core mat. The odd cement blocks were where the central shaft is now

( Nov 16 )

Not sure what this is - - an alternative to building the entire mat out of re-bar ?

Had I known about this a few days ago, I might have attempted to go to this... I'm sure it was interesting with all the NiMBY'S in the west loop.
