Wasn't there a tenant moving into the old Sears (Tesla?)?
Maybe it's to provide better access for them.

True that, good call. If they're going to put in a Tesla super centre or whatever they're called they will have to re-jig the driveways in and out of the place.

It's been blocked off and under construction for a while now. I haven't observed the hole getting any deeper, though.

I don't know if a Tesla store is actually going to be going in there. Not too long after the news about it at Brentwood broke, there was a story about most if not all of Tesla's stores closing to focus on online sales.. and then that was walked back. Hard to say if it's going forward or not.

Lol we live in the Amazon era where brick and mortar stores are dying.

Tesla was more of a delivery/service centre than just a showroom so I'm pretty sure they'll get it through unless the timeline changed on Phase 3.

unless the rules have changed all Teslas are sold on line has to do with automobiles have to be sold by a 3 rd party and not direct. Tesla has increased there brick mortar locations since brentwood started so dont see them changing focus

The cars are "sold" by Tesla one way or another, mostly online because they have no inventory to speak of, except sometimes used trade-ins or the odd new model near quarter end.

The West 4th and Park Royal locations are showrooms and service centers, I expect something similar at Brentwood, ideally with a lot more floor space for service and parts inventory. They are stretched to the max currently.

Yes that's a staging/storage area for deliveries. Everything comes up by truck from California and they don't have any space at their service centre locations.

There's another warehouse/garage area on Great Northern Way where they clean up and inspect the cars prior to customer delivery.

Mine was delivered at the PNE Forum in June 2018. They were doing about a hundred a day.

Definitely not for Toronto and parts east, but could be Western Canada. The US trucks may drop them off there and others take them to Calgary, etc.

Overall, for me, Brentwood turned out pretty amazing. I would like to find some time to stop by and check it out in person but going off of the pictures, it looks like Brentwood is going to age well and really be that focal point that drives other developments.

I live nearby in East Van. Brentwood will hopefully replace some of my trips to downtown or Metrotown to shop or see movies.

The Sporting Life is quite nice, a more upscale Sport Chek.

I agree. I too live not far. Between Hastings Heights and this mall, its a lot less incentive to deal with Downtown. In my books this should be a big win.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was BC only.

The amount of Model 3's I see on the roads is ridiculous, but also incredibly awesome.

Driving a Tesla in Vancouver is becoming so boring. Owning on is as individualistic as owning an iPhone. Everyone and their mother has one.
