Theres a TNT just 5 minutes by foot away, but a Nesters or something like that would work. That place will have a lot of traffic eventually so some retail would make sense.

The Parq is a hotel / entertainment venue - so no grocery store there.
Not sure if the retail spaces at Arc or One Pacific are configured for a grocery store (ie. rectangular).

Urban Fare is not far away. Probably closer than TNT.

Area really needs a grocery store - would be nice if one is coming to the Arc or the Casino - but I won't hold my breath.

Urban Fare and IGA are not that close, and Costco isn't exactly great for picking up milk and bananas.

There is also a shopper by Homer and Nelson, that is still very walk-able.

Don't forget the BC Liquor at Pacific and Cambie. Just pour some Grey Goose with those cereal. HAHA.

It would be nice to get some more convenience stores around town. There are only 4 7-11's in all of Downtown, for example (accoding to their website store finder).

There are a ton of one off convenience stores downtown. I'm assuming you're still out of the country, but there are plenty if you are walking around.

But their pricepoint is higher than average.
Eventually there may be something more mainstream at the Plaza of Nations redevelopment.

People love their convenience to be as close to home as possible, as I've pointed out before. No harm having more grocers there.

Walkable, yes, but wait till you have to lug bags of groceries on a freezing cold rainy day.

That's why there should be smaller stores. There are definitely enough grocery options within a reasonable distance, and in the case that you are buying a lot once Uber returns to Vancouver you can just take one.

I'm curious, do grocery stores in Vancouver have delivery service?

Anyway, it'd be nice to see some more convenience type stores in development. It's a lot easier to have that on a corner for the occasional times you need milk or bread or something small that doesn't warrant a trip to a full-sized grocery store.

I think that's why people only buy a few items because they have to walk further. For those lucky enough to purchase at stores downstairs, I'm sure they will be able to buy more, especially if they are hosting a party. Everyone loves convenience.

The One Pacific neighbourhood is ripe for this sort of convenience as more people are moving in. Hotel and casino guests can contribute more to market food and beverage services. It's a win-win for all.

Save-on-Foods has ramped up its delivery service via on-line ordering.

The problem is trying to predict a time when you'll be at home to receive the goods - not all buildings have concierges, and you'd also have to deal with perishable (frozen) foods.

I've never had a problem with that, just set the delivery time for the evening or weekend.

Apart from ordering online, do they have delivery service? As in, you go to the store, pick out what you want, pay normally, but have them bagged and delivered to your house instead of you walking out of the store with them. They have that here in Mexico at many supermarkets and it was quite common to have that when I lived in Spain. Not sure if that's available in Vancouver...

I live above a grocery store and we buy less there because it's so easy. But, also expensive.

Yeah, I like having a 7 Eleven right next to our building and go there quite often to buy milk, a chocolade bar or a lotto coupon. But it is only convenient enough if it's right next door.

The ultimate convenience must be what they have here in Taipei, with a 7 Eleven almost literally at Every. Single. Corner. The amount of 7 Elevens in here is ridiculous and you can basically always see one no matter where in the city you are. Take that Starbucks of Manhattan.

Here in Mexico City in a 250 meter radius of my house I have 6 7-Elevens, 4 Oxxo (convenience store owned by Coca Cola), 3 Extra/Circulo K (another convenience store chain) and 2 independent stores.

On top of that I have 6 pharmacies which also sell basics (water, soft drinks, chips, etc) and a mini-supermarket within the same 200m radius. Not to mention 2 full-sized supermarkets (strangely enough, they're both the same chain)

Oh...and 3 Starbucks as well. Can't forget that lol
