A Canadian league wouldn't be anywhere near in quality to the MLS. The MLS does more to train and produce Canadian football talent than any Canada-wide league currently could simply based on sponsorship and funding and exposure to the American market.
Unless you're implying that non-MLS clubs in Canada are pumping out National Team players.
