Nah it's not just that when it comes to the poster in question. He actively celebrates misfortunes to the dreaded "east", as you can see in some of the replies. Natural disasters, etc. Things that go well beyond sports.

I don't think anyone expects every Canadian to cheer on a Toronto based team just because they're Canadian. Someone from BC being a Mariners fan makes total sense, for example. Now cheering for an entire coast is lame for sure. "Oh yeah, the Jays beat the Mariners but I'm an LA Dodgers fan too!" He can get out of here with that shit.

Did his parents have a "let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark" bumper sticker on their car ca. 1982?

I would never cheer misfortune on any of my fellow Canadians

I think that describes 99.999% of people on here, thankfully. The few who would tend to stand out because of the egregiousness of their comments, but truthfully I can't imagine how unhappy these people are in their lives to lash out in the way they do. I certainly am glad that it's not my headspace - it must be a terrible way to live.

I get why people don't like the Leafs, but the Raptors and Jays are Canada's only two sports teams in major leagues outside the NHL.

I think Rogers Sportsnet's coverage of the Blue Jays in general is pretty excessive, but at least the Jays made the world series this year and almost won. They finally lived up to the hype, and I hope they can keep it up next season.

I watched the World Series on Fox, because I was especially looking forward the the American reaction to Canada winning the world series... but...

I also watched the Fox feed, though was on Citytv, which I believe Rogers owns… I was rooting for the Jays to win, despite my angst for Rogers, and Sportsnet, which I think has horrible production and bad personalities for the most part on a lot of the shows. While I believe Buck Martinez is an absolute gem of a person who I’m sure I’d be able to spend hours just sitting and listening to his stories, I have a hard time listening to his voice through a ball game, his voice is annoying throughout the game.

I also really dislike the white box that identifies the strike zone, it feels so intrusive and allows everyone to absolutely scrutinize the calls on every single pitch. Plus I just hate having a computer generated white box… instead of a white box, the Fox feed had a slighly lighter area that represented the strike zone, that made for a more traditional viewing of the ball game.

The Fox feed was actually way more neutral than I thought it would be. I didn’t get any impression that they were pulling for the Dodgers.

Such a tough loss though. The baseball itself was absolutely epic, off the charts entertaining. I’d imagine Little League registration in Canada is going to skyrocket next year.

I got the impression most US media was actually rooting for The Jays as the fun underdogs against the mega dollar Dodgers.

Thumbs up

It's parade time!!
The boys are rollin in the double decker busses on the way to Dodger stadium
Again amazing coverage by the very local KTLA. You don't have to sit through Rangers or Yankees highlights to get to the local team.
Also loved seeing the boys come off the plane at LAX yesterday. Fun fact: the number one international destination from the Los Angeles airport is Vancouver BC!

That's the movie industry.

Don't worry, Trump will take care of that, He wants to tariff the bejesus out of it, and is only trying to figure out how to do it since the product is intangible.

Once Herr Adolf finds a way, the west coast movie industry will collapse. Just another step in his plan to starve Canada into submission.

Maybe someday the Vancouver Orcas will have a World Series parade of their own.

Until then enjoy Toronto Blue Jays affiliate Single -A baseball vs Spokane 😄

Incorrect. Vancouver (YVR) comes in at number 6. London Heathrow (LHR) is the #1 destination out of LAX by passenger count.

It's sad that it took that overpaid team of superstars 7 games and extra innings to beat the Jays. I watched some from a local KTLA feed. Those sportscasters sounded like they were wearing knee pads every time they spoke about the Dodgers players.

I can't see the Dodgers winning again for a long time. Enjoy your very expensive win. Those teammates don't even seem like they like each other.

At least now we won't have to watch the Dodgers juvenile first run dance, which Fun Fact originated from a Japanese skincare commercial featuring Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani, where he moves the product in front of his face.

This is what I saw, but who really cares anyway?

1 London-Heathrow (LHR)
1.62 - 1.63 million
2 Seoul-Incheon (ICN)
1.17 - 1.2 million
3 Guadalajara (GDL)
1.12 - 1.14 million
4 Taipei-Taoyuan (TPE)
1.09 million
5 Tokyo-Haneda (HND)
Over 1.0 million
6 Cancun (CUN)
1.15 million (to DFW, but a top LAX destination as well)
7 Paris (CDG)
Among top destinations
8 Dubai (DXB)
Among top destinations
9 Amsterdam (AMS)
Among top destinations
10 Hong Kong (HKG)
Among top destinations

I mean, Vancouver is probably the #1 destination in Canada due to its proximity to LAX.
