In the new mark 2 today, #309. They still haven't fixed the fan noise, it is quite piercing. I would have hoped that the aAC being off, it would be quiet by now.

How come #3 Main always get upgraded ahead of #20 route. Anyway, I hope #20 get this as soon as possible, the reliability of the ultra-used #20 has been in downturn ever since it used the artics. It is now normal to wait for a freaking 15 minutes during mid-day for #20, it is unacceptable. At least with these sign I can know to use the valuable 15 minutes for some grocery shopping.

Starting today, the C12 route got extended from Lions Bay to Brunswick. Now Translink's service area just got a bit larger, and we're 2km closer for a service to Squamish via Sea-to-Sky.

There is a new project folder in my work server "Seabus Hub 2010 Lighting Upgrade". I don't see anything yet but will keep everyone posted.

Great. The Seabus "stations" (what do you call them?) are quite dark and dingy. It's amazing how Waterfront, you enter three different eras of architecture: Canada Line Platforms are modern, Expo & Millennium Lines are somewhat contemporary (at least it has been updated), adn the SeaBus walkway and station is quite retro and dated.

News 1130 is running a poll right now asking which option people want... No additional funding and cut services, $130 million additional funding and maintain services, or $450 million additional funding and expand service. Right now 48% of people voted for no additional funding, 17% voted to maintain services, and 35% voted to expand services. Go to www.news1130.com and cast your vote, then call 604-877-6332 to voice your opinion. We need some votes on the maintain and expand side!! Even though the additional funding side holds the majority, the cut services option has the most votes right now.

Most people who don't use public transit just doesn't know that the same road they drive on everyday are partially maintained by TransLink.. Most people thought Golden Ears Bridge is fully paid by toll every year, but they don't know that, at least for this year, if you take GEB off TransLink's book (both profit and expense), TransLink would still be running at 20mil profit.

TransLink gets $130 million boost from mayors

That was the final vote for the Funding Stabilization Plan, a $130 million proposal that will include fuel tax increase of three cents per litre bringing the total gas tax to 15 cents per litre.

The table debated for over two hours, many against the plan include Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan and Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini.

Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts says it is the best decision for the public. "Hopefully, as we go forward Mayor [Richard] Walton suggested we needed a negotiating strategy, hopefully we'll have someone to negotiate with. But having said that, I think that we're all in agreement that we have to continue to move forward, because the people that we represent around this region will expect nothing less."

Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini told the table the issue of a funding crisis was known many years ago and was ignored. Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan agreed and painted a dismal picture for the future. "I re-circulated the letter I wrote five and half years ago to the Board of Directors, pointing out the emperor has no clothes. In fact, the situation was disastrous financially and we're being asked to move ahead with the Canada Line without the funding in place to be able to support the system."

Many mayors reluctantly voted 'Yes,' claiming this is a short term solution to a serious problem.

Even if some of them really think Translink=transit only, how about it affects their family, especially parents. Consider that baby-boomers are now entering retire age, our transit will see a big influx of much more seniors passengers in the next 10 years, and we already see a lot of letters lately written by some 60+ resident complaining how intolerably crowded the current transit is. And don't forget the HandyDart, which is also used by seniors, now requires up to 1 month waiting list to sign up for regular trips.
