the asian woman was more capable of aggressive attack than the black woman. At first, it was a battle of verbal insult, and starting from that, the asian woman got the upper hand focusing on just two words, stupid and fuck u. Later on, the black woman spoke in an accent I am not entirely aware of, but I guess it was english. Near the end, the black woman threw a weak punch ( according to man's standard ), and got a lightening storm back.

the encounter left no one dead, it was an usual female play...

i would imagine if this was a fight between two men, it woudl've been much more sensational and original

Wow. I know this SF Muni fight will get posted here.

Talk about crazy female fight on transit, there was a front-page story incident in Hong kong east rail where one woman bite two fingers off another woman just before the door closed. While the woman who lost fingers left with the train, the fingers were still on the platform floor. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) survillence video of this incident was not released to public.

The Arbutus corridor has a steep curve and a hill in it where it rises up to Kerrisdale. That's one problem. That might require a bored (dirty word) tunnel. But it is one of the few rights-of-way that offer themselves to being exploited for bigger and more farsighted projects than a local streetcar to replace a local bus.
The rail line makes a wide sweeping curve around Quilchena Park to scale the hill. If the Sockeye Special could make it out to Steveston in 1905, we shouldn't have any outrageously expensive hurdles that prevent it today.

Wow, you guys stay classy making fun of people who knows little English and has a heavy accent.

My Cantonese friend said the Chinese lady was arguing the black lady was hogging seats. Then the argument just escalated from there with nobody coming in to help intervene.

Not knowing where exactly the couples feet are makes it hard to figure out who is wrong or right.

So I'm going to assume that the couple is sitting normally with their feet on the ground and possibly some baggage of some kind beside or between their legs. If that is the case, then where the hell does the idiotic person who is standing in front of them complaining about their feet, expect them to put their feet. Did he expect them to stand up on the seat

I don't expect much more from Hed Kandi. The 'fug yoo' is unnecessary. You know she was saying 'f*#k you'.

Anyway, this video is just storming everyone's facebook. 20+ on my list have posted it. It's blowing up - viral style.

Most of the other asians on board seemed to be egging on the Chinese lady, who surprisingly did not back down. No more stereotype of the pushover asian lady - I wish we had more of that here in our city. (Not about them being violent but at least not timid and always backing away)

Posted this in the Seabus thread but might as well post it here too. Here's a video (in HD) of the new Seabus in the West terminal of Lonsdale Quay.

the best i've seen from vancouver is ppl kicking the bus and yelling at the bus driver. Vancouverites got a higher than average manner when it comes to arguing, never have i seen any punch or physical assult. However, there's a lot of verbal shitting, it seems to be the character of the whole city from time to time.

I threw a huge snowball at the back window of a bus once. It was the 145 leaving SFU, it did not even stop at the station and it had more than enough room to fit the 5 to 10 people waiting. We were all pretty pissed. (good old cold and snowy SFU bus shelter).

Same. Just like road rage, I've seen people yelling and whatnot. Although a lot of the time the people doing the freaking out are the ones in the wrong, sort of like "how dare somebody actually call me on my bullshit".

Obviously people need to chill out. If you live in an urban environment with tons of people everywhere, you need to just deal with some of the inconveniences.

On the other hand, some of these people stirring shit up verbally, keep doing it because there are no reprecussions. Sometimes they do need the shit kicked out of them.

What do people think about personal space issues here?

I find it annoying when people who ride public transit make a fuss on skytrain or the bus when its packed about people being too close. it's like stirring sh*t over something that no one can do much about. removing backpacks is one thing but asking someone to give you more space when there is none just sounds a little unreasonable.

Switching back to Vancouver transit discussion...I walked by Main St. today and noticed that the real time next-bus information displays for the No. 3 bus have been installed and are now working.

I have no idea how accurate they are since I wasn't waiting for the bus.

I wonder if the data stream for this is available. You could make some very interesting mobile device apps with this.

Translink is integrating live next bus technology into it's SMS system. I'm sure you'll see translink's iPhone app to be upgraded.
