On top of that it looks like a photograph of a photograph. (unless the white spot in the middle is supposed to give it a vintage look?) There is even a cheap lens-flare effect.

I was referring to the area, including those historic buildings.

Also those Vancouver pics without any snow in late January are depressing.

I think he means depressing in that Southern Ontario is having a snow storm currently.

Or, that the mountain tops are very bare for this time of the year, meaning a poor ski season...

Winter without snow is one of the most depressing things to me. (Especially Christmas or New Years. Probably Valentines Day, but never had a green one of those that I remember.)

Funny, I would never ever associate Valentines Day with snow / winter activties. Christmas of course, but not Valentines Day, that is honestly more of a spring feeling holiday.

And while I enjoy snow for a week or so, I find frozen city scapes to be quite depressing (unless they embrace it and have lots of snow such as Montreal, but even then I would become tired of it after a month or so, always love the green.)

I'm usually tired of summer by mid July myself.

Really? Well, we are opposites for sure. You must be a true Canadian to like winter that much!

Haha I'm so sad and scared for the few days it snows here, wondering if I can even get to work. I generally can't go anywhere if there's any on the road, and in my old place I wouldn't even be able to get out of the driveway if it was below zero.

Pinion you make it sound like sulfuric acid.

Which I have to admit is kind of hilarious. Reminds me of one the movie Signs only for you it's snow rather than liquid water.

That's a phenomenal shot of Vancouver, but yeah, the poor ski hills must be suffering big time.

I wish we actually had snow, but I haven't spent a full winter with snow in like 15 years so who knows if I'd still feel that way . And I get exhausted from summer too Beedok. I'm more of a cold weather person. And it doesn't even get that hot here compared to the rest of the country. 25 degree sunny days are nice for a while but all that sun and not being able to walk outside without sweat forming on my forehead gets really annoying. I actually love those random 1 or 2 grey days a month in the summer, makes for a nice break. The weather I'm most comfortable in is around 15 degrees and overcast. Lucky Vancouver spends a lot of time like that!

I will admit that >25 and rainy is something I like. Especially if it's pouring out. Sadly there's not really enough rainy days like that most places I've lived.

Personally, I am especially fond of those 15-30 minute downpours at the end of really hot summer days, usually with thunder and lightning. Then the sun comes out again and it's a beautiful evening.

That's a great shot of Toronto. The Bloor/Midtown area of Toronto is my favorite skyline area of the city. It looks more organic in the way it's grown, the building styles are more diverse, they are better spaced, and it doesn't have the downtown volcano shape.
