I think you'll need a skytrain every 2 minutes during rush hours

Milllennium line is mainly 2 car trains so 3 extra cars per train for that line once Mark Vs arrive.

Mark V's will be assigned to the Expo Line, but the M-Line should see some displaced 4-car trains.

I imagine the M line will more than double, if not triple in ridership by 2030 once the Broadway Extension finishes, as well as the massive developments in Brentwood and Burquitlam.

Mark V trains will initially be focused on the Expo Line to replace the retiring Mark I trains, but there's also a plan to start replacing the Mark II trains (both generations) with another order of Mark V trains probably around 2028/2029.

Grosvenor forges JV to advance Vancouver's Brentwood Block

Grosvenor will be pursuing Phase 1 development of its master-planned Vancouver project Brentwood Block in a joint venture with an unnamed Canadian pension fund and B.C.-based investment firm Westerkirk Capital Inc.

“The joint venture formation at Brentwood Block is especially remarkable as it signals the start of one of our largest contributions to the North American housing market to date, delivering needed housing in supply-constrained Metro Vancouver,” Jamie Delmotte, chief co-investment officer for Grosvenor’s North American property business, said in an announcement.

Pre-sales of the condo units started in September, with construction to begin in early 2025. Completion is scheduled for 2030.

Josephson says they're starting to see an increase in market demand in the region.

"October sales look relatively strong," he said. "I think we're seeing a market that's increasingly waking up with the latent demand beginning to come off the sidelines as things improve through the end of the year and into 2025.”

Grosvenor is also feeling confident with Brentwood Block in Burnaby, a master-planned community the company is building in a joint venture.

The first phase of Brentwood Block will be made up of 1,730 units, of which 1,279 will be rental housing and 204 below market rate. A multi-storey community centre and 200,000 square feet of commercial space are also planned for the $1.5-billion development stage.

"We've had tremendous success at Brentwood block, reaching approximately 100 sales in a month, outpacing the market,” Josephson said.

Thanks for the update. Brentwood desperately need a proper community centre within its core, so here's hoping for a undisrupted construction!

a 43-storey condo tower (59 studio units, 162 one-bedroom units, 210 two-bedroom units, and 22 three-bedroom units),
a 54-storey market rental tower (105 studio units, 321 one-bedroom units, 135 two-bedroom units, and 13 three-bedroom units), and
a 63-storey market rental and non-market rental tower (167 studio units, 370 one-bedroom units, 152 two-bedroom units, and 15 three-bedroom units).

Phase Two will then include 1,745 units, split between:
a 63-storey market rental and non-market rental tower (168 studio units, 388 one-bedroom units, 170 two-bedroom units, and 16 three-bedroom units),
a 58-storey market rental tower (98 studio units, 301 one-bedroom units, 126 two-bedroom units, and 12 three-bedroom units), and
a 44-storey condo tower (61 studio units, 166 one-bedroom units, 216 two-bedroom units, and 23 three-bedroom units).
