553 & 557 Upper Queen Street

Another townhouse development is proposed on Upper Queen Street....

Two single family homes currently exist and this development is proposed to be 28 units and two stories in height.

Planning application page: https://london.ca/business-development/p...lanning-applications/553-557-upper-queen

Planning application notice: https://london.ca/sites/default/files/20...f%20App%20%20PPM%20-%20Upper%20Queen.pdf

In case you don't remember, Council approved a ten unit townhouse development just to the north of this in 2023, and it probably generated the most opposition of all infills in the last couple of years ...https://londonnewstoday.ca/news/2023/01/...-hall-meeting-lps-investigation-launched

UPDATE: Council approved the zoning change for this, as per city planning staff's recommendation: https://london.ca/sites/default/files/20...%20Upper%20Queen%20Street%20%28MV%29.pdf

I don't mind the density but they should have to design those buildings to look better if they want approval. Those are hideous.

I agree, is it too much to ask for a little effort to be put into the look of these places?

Auburn has re-submitted their application for 96 townhouse units (instead of 108). Similar site-plan and renderings:
