I actually feel kind of honoured that you made one of your dissecting lists about me.

Not even close to Brownstones. I see these crappy, faux brick, stucco townhouses everywhere from here to Toronto. It doesn't do justice to some of the buildings that exist in Corktown. If you want to get 400-500k for 2000 sq ft at least put some decent design features.

I agree entirely and that's precisely why I was calling these sorts of townhouses, suburban. To me, they are very much reminiscent of the low-rise developments that spur off of the 407 and the 401. Although I'm proud that our city is getting much needed infill, and agree that we are at the tail-end of a demolition phase - when will it end? When is it okay for citizens to step-in and start giving demands to honour the true fabric of our city's core? I don't know... am I being dramatic here?

If it turns out to be faux brick I'll be just as annoyed, but I'm not quite sure they're fake bricks.

doesn't have to be that way - we could have both if only the city had a better forestry bylaw

Yeah definitely, but in this case it's better to lose the tree and the empty lot. I get what you're saying but there's no way this particular tree could be developed around. Not to mention it's grown right around the powerlines.

The city needs to really push the free tree program. They ought to advertise more.

The plan calls for an additional eight manicured trees - six along the front entrance and two on the side lawn. That's a definite upgrade from the one disheveled tree that posed a hazard to the power-lines on the vacant lot.

Anything is an upgrade at this point, even if it's at the expense of one tree.

I'm not sure about anything. A McDonalds with a statue of Trump out front would be pretty bad.

NOW YOU (yes you) CAN SEE THE FAMED BRONZE STATUE OF DONALD TRUMP IN THE HISTORIC AREA OF CORKTOWN, AND ENJOY A CLASSIC DOUBLE QUARTER POUNDER JUST STEPS FROM THE GO STATION

But they're putting in eight mature trees in its place...so...this is actually quite the gain.
