Are these apartments? I like this one, especially the balcony overlooking Brown's Inlet.

Definitely apartments judging by the 'Only 1 Left' sticker on the sign!

This is one of my favourite renovations ever. It's on on Echo Drive, by Mount Pleasant. It was an old, 3-storey brick house, and is visible from the other side of the Rideau Canal.
This one has been featured in a few magazine articles. That box on the top is the master bedroom. It's really incredible inside.

I'm loving all these pics, we are putting together a nice record of the infill housing here!

The individual infill houses shown are generally ugly oversized boxes allowing no space for greenery. Is this really enhancing our city? Some of the multiple unit buildings at least seem to have enough space to fit properly into the site.

It's a real shame that most of the Flickr pictures have disappeared. This is a great thread.

Agreed. And that's because defishel is linking to the webpage that displayed the photo, instead of to the photo itself.

Ottawa Architecture Week is offering a few free home tours this year. One is strictly speaking infill and takes place in Hintonburg on Thursday, October 2nd. Quite nice. The second is the home of architect Paul Kariouk (who also designed that house on Echo). It is in the Mondrian condo tower and takes place on Wednesday, October 1st. He cometely reimagined the apartment and is worth checking out.

(Full disclosure, I'm involved with the festival)
