Ottawa Infill Developments
I think this deserves it's own thread. I'm going to start posting shots of interesting nice and not so nice infill housing and condos in the city. Here are a couple of shots from Stonehurst/Lyndale Avenue in Mechanicsville Today.

Funny, I drove by that one the other day and almost went back to take a pic. Incredible house, I would definitely live there myself haha.

That's just awesome dude. The one on Stirling in Hintonburg with the red rust and barnwood is a knock-out.

How many children died for those houses to be built? :)
Was it the one on Grant or Armstrong (or both?) that was the subject of NIMBYist hysteria? Hey, neighbours: how your property values doin'? |
Thanks for all the awesome shots, def & Harley!
I can recall 2 infill projects along the routes I usually take (will try to take pictures next time with my phone) First one is on Woodroffe Ave. between Baseline and the 417 Eastbound ramp. Very nice looking home from the outside and I am sure they are equally nice on the inside but I wouldn't want to live on such a busy street. I've seen people waiting up to 5 minutes to back out of their driveways! Second one is on Moodie Drive, between Robertson Road and Seyton Road (not too far from the newly-built mosque for another point of reference) The houses don't look much different than any new houses in the 'burbs but it's nice to see something there in place of the previously vacant lots. I do like the location, easy access to the 416, 417, Kanata, Bayshore and all amenities. |
