Wow - that's a lot of progress! I was thinking that they started at the same time as Portman's residential tower.

Also, didn't someone say that they may be developing just one of the Toll Brothers towers first, with Phase II being the second tower?

I think that's exactly the plan, but I believe they're building the podium for both towers now. The first one is the market rate tower, the second is the student focused one. They're being smart, imo. With all the student beds already underway, they can gauge demand.

They filed permits for them as phase I and phase II but they have already started on the foundation for the second tower.

Between this project, and the (soon-to-start) projects at the old post office site, the lot across from the Alexan, and Hannover West Peachtree, West Peachtree Street is going to have a fairly solid urban canyon between 7th and 15th Streets!

I love these photos because you notice things you totally miss just driving the streets.

Example: What is that little white house in the lower right-hand corner? Does someone currently live there? It looks completely out of place now.

EDIT: Found a pic of it I took on a run last year. Believe it is a contractors office.

Thanks. However, I should have been clearer. I was talking about the one on the opposite side of the street facing the camera.

Don't have a pic right off hand but seem to remember an attorney's office being there.

Yes that's correct. Portman just purchased this lot and the small brick building nextdoor for close to $15 million. Most likely will be incorporated in the next phase of their development.

Here it is this morning and it is fenced off with the rest of the project and used as a construction staging/storage.
