Maybe they are from all of the anti development people out there that lament that Austin isn't a small city anymore.
<rant>Well I know everyone complains about the real estate prices in this city, but this is getting out of hand. I was out looking at some of the condo projects around old west Austin yesterday, and experienced sticker shock first hand. I went to the Terrace Lofts (I think) near Enfield, and they had a converted apartment that was under 1200 sq ft for 365k!!!!!!

To make things worse, said condo didn't even have washer / dryer connections and smelled like 1950s mold!

While we were there, there was an older Austinite that was complaining that the high cost of real estate here was to be blamed on the people from California.</rant>
These older neighborhoods make Mueller look like a bargain in comparison. I visited the Mueller models also and was very surprised. Mueller is really nice and offers a lot of amenities for the money. I really liked all of the park land and greenbelt trails that are around the community. But the thing that really impressed me with Mueller is that every house has a large front patio, and is actually designed to encourage people to talk to their neighbors!
One thing that was particularly interesting was a David Weekly Row House that was staged for a young successful bachelor who was UT's #1 fan!
