Also they were to install landscaping next to the sidewalk, which was never done. The screen that was required is absolutely hideous and perhaps worse than nothing.

Impark pay station was installed in the 18 block Hamilton lot today - this signals (at least) two things:
  1. construction at Ag Place is truly winding down (PCL had exclusive rights to the lot for their Ag Place construction workers); and
  2. that the lot is going to be a more permanent fixture (a building there isn't imminent... though, I think this was patently obvious)
Hopefully with the lot becoming a more permanent fixture, the City will get serious about enforcing the landscaping requirements that were attached to the lot's zoning approval. (I'm not holding my breath, though).

I believe there 5 of 9 the schools are different from the others, or have a different floorplan.

The podium for them is still there. My guess is they are restoring it and prepping the installation. There were a number of points on the statue that were starting to rust; I remember there was a line that was forming under a wing of one of the birds. That statue, being white, needs to be in pristine condition for the effect to be at its best. It's become a bit of an iconic piece for Regina.

Also, it's not Evraz "Place" -- that's the exhibition grounds.

The birds are supposed to go back up.

Any word on when the big reveal will happen on the copper Leg dome? It should be late enough that it will stay shiny copper all winter. I expect it will be too cold and dry in the winter for much oxidation.

I hear that the crane will be up until after X-mas.

Correction: May/June.

Could this mean the return of the true head office to Regina (as opposed to head office of a division of a Swiss conglomerate)?

On Friday, Reuters reported that Glencore is in talks with a Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund, a Chinese grain trader known as COFCO, along with Canadian pension funds, to sell a stake in the Canadian agriculture assets that operate under the Viterra banner. Glencore bought Viterra, Canada’s biggest gain handler, in 2012.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if it resulted in moving the head office completely.

In order to obtain Investment Canada Act approval in 2102:

Glencore has also committed maintaining the Regina head office and making it the head office for its North American agricultural operations.
I believe this was a 5 year commitment.

These kind of agreements are almost always hollow. The Viterra workforce is already a shell of its former self.
