Based on the image from above, looks like construction is almost at ground level now.

Here's the hoarding...

The east side is nearing completion to grade while the west side is forming above grade now. Photos I took this weekend:

The good news is with this now quickly going above grade, we won't need them to get updates soon.

Amazed at the amount of conduit and piping buried under the concrete. Is there tracers wires attached should they need to locate at some point or are there detailed drawings.

I'd imagine there'd be tracer wires if they are burying them - looks like it'd be a nightmare to ever have to service though..

Just received an email (from Milbourne), on 75 James, saying that Phase 1 is sold out, anyone have details on how any units were in that release?

Maybe they're selling the tower itself in phases? (Eg. Floor 1-15 as phase 2).

This has like 650 units in it so they likely are selling them in chunks.

it's crazy when you think how few ACTUAL condos/rental units that are new have been built on james st - augusta, and the pigott/sun life adaptation and the student residences at william thomas are all that come to mind..

Yeah mostly just conversions, not new builds. I mean I get it - james st is pretty historical. Knocking down anything along James St is generally a pretty big deal as it's like the main aorta of the city.

181 James N. is another.

After the bigger lots are developed I suspect we may see more small builds on limited footprints. There's still potential for that all along James: e.g., that little plaza at Colborne with Loaded Pierogi and the parking lots closer to St. Joe's come to mind (and hopefully the older homes along that stretch that house medical services don't get demolished in the process).
