It takes a tough person to get in that cab. I'm wanting to get up there. I can probably see my house or Pinnacle Campus from up there. Could see Buda and Plugerville from up there as well. It's going to be amazing when your up there after the last jump. At an estimated 740 feet high.
And what about the last jump for the T. Stacy Tower if it comes up. Probably the cab would be 880 feet high! It's just amazing to think about being up there. 8 hours a day is a lot, especially when your being cooked by the hot sun trying to just move the slow crane. If someone said "save your life" and they push you off, your life will have the last moments with you. I don't even think they put sunscreen on a hot day.

If it were to be topped out tomorrow I'd be happy with this height, but IT STILL HAS MORE TO GO!!!

Unreal...Austin's tallest almost 50 floors. Never thought I'd see the day! Austonian is really starting to dominate the skyline now (the slender build tends to enhance that effect). This is particularly the case from the Mopac/183 area.

I've always thought a 50 floor would go up here. At the pace of this construction boom, we could have a 1,000 footer by 2015!

I saw it this evening and thought, you know, that looks like a 50-story building! Amazing!

Austin is now only the third city in Texas to have a 50-story skyscraper. We're witnessing history folks. A few notes. Our first 50-story building has more floors than Dallas and Houston's first 50+ story buildings. And our's is residential. It's also the first 50+ story residential building in Texas.

Dallas - Republic Center Tower II - 598 feet - 53 floors - 1964

Houston - One Shell Plaza - 714 feet - 50 floors - 1971 - (First 700+ foot building in Texas).

Austin - The Austonian - 683 feet - 56 floors - 2009

Sure! It's the best looking structure in Central Texas. In my opinion.

If it's offensive (IDKH) it's just my op. so it doesn't matter.

They finally got smart too, and trimmed one of these trees. The last time I was there it was right in the middle of this view.

Right after I got finished with these and left, I had a blowout on my bicycle. It sounded like a shotgun blast. lol
