The lift side of the boom is now put together in the adjacent parking lot. This may be going up today..

Quoting myself to bump the webcam, you can see the turntable showed up now, I think there is one or two sections above the top of the frame, so it will likely be jacked later in the project. I think there will still be more boom sections to arrive.

I was down here eating Dim Sum today and got a few pics of the crane going up. They had all the parts on site for the boom. It's a crane that will jack itself up for sure.

I am guessing those different sections have to do with jacking up the crane. Could be wrong tho.

Here's a recent photo taken from the library. If you look carefully you can see the Maple crane. It looks like it's only around half as tall as it will eventually need to be:

The Cable Wharf cam provides another perspective on this (too bad it was a bit foggy today). From this angle it looks like it'll make a big difference. It'll be nice to have something more modern there to offset the Maritime Centre a bit. I think the Alexander would have a similar effect.

It is good to see that it is moving along. They have carved quite an impressive pit into the bedrock.

I wonder if they can consistently pour concrete during the cold winter months? I am looking forward to seeing this one rising above street level.

Hard to see in the low lighting, but work was happening this morning to install the concrete pump which will hopefully help to speed this one up.

The Concrete Placing arm is going in. its bolted to the pad, unlike the Nova Center's which is anchored by 2 floors. I suspect once they have 2 floors, this one will climb the same way.

Great photo. The icicles illustrate how much ground water is running through the stone below Hollis.

I had to do a double take with your photo. I had been checking the webcam and it looked like the arm was anchored near the Hollis wall, which I thought was odd as it wouldn't be able to reach the whole floor. Goes to show how deep the hole is which caused the illusion.

Yesterday

The floor they are pouring is level with Lower Water Street. So not long until this one starts rising above the street.
