From 5/13. That day they starting moving the platforms up for the 45th floor. That's the most of any building in Austin.

That's the W Hotel & Residences under construction in the foreground.

Construction pics from last weekend:

^After turning "the bend" on Guadalupe, The Austonian is in the center of the horizon. It'll be a landmark for sure even up in West Campus and the edge of Hyde Park.

They were on the 45th floor in these photos. Going by the elevation drawings filed with the City, they were at 500 feet 2 inches at this point. Now they're working on the 46th floor, which will take it to 511 feet 11 inches. Just one more floor and it'll pass the crown on Frost and week be higher than any roof in town. Once they reach the 51st floor, it'll be 570 feet, it'll be the tallest building in town, passing 360 Condominium's spire. Then they'll have just 5 more floors plus the mechanical penthouse/crown.

From 5/17.

From 5/18.

Decent views from South Congress.

I love all those but my favorite is the one from S. Congress at dusk with the lighted signs for the Austin Motel and the Continental Club. So very "Austin."

Here's a few from Friday May 22

From S. Lamar on the site of the abandoned Magnolia Condo project:

From Whole Foods 2nd floor terrace

From TMI Castle

From Lamar at Cesar Chavez St

From Lou Neff Point

Hey Mike, the shots from Whole Foods are great! When they were building the Monarch I used to go up there all the time for photos, but I didn't even think about doing it for the Austonian. Good vantage point!

Mine from 5/22:

Well, this thing is going up at a really fast rate of a floor a week? Its been so since around when it started construction! It's going to be around August when this thing tops out. 683 FT

A couple photos I took while in town yesterday. This tower is super sexy, I love it! I wish Houston could attract a nice residential tower like this to downtown. Oh well, I guess One Park Place will have to do for now.

Nice pics photolitherland like always.
You're right, this tower is a great one, can't wait to see it come to life when it finishes. Boy am I waiting!

47th floor reached. Now officially the 2nd tallest building in Austin, beating Frost and behind 360.
Right now it is at 523 feet 8 inches.

4 more floors until it reaches a architectural milestone in Austin, officially taking the place as the tallest building. At the time also being the 10th tallest structure in Austin, behind the antennae at the West Austin Antenna Farm, excluding cranes.

Some skyline shots from yesterday around my neck of the woods. (South Austin).

From Cooper Lane near William Cannon.

From Emerald Forrest between Stassney & William Cannon. This is right inside my neighborhood.

From South Congress & Stassney. Also note that you can see the very top of Frost to the right.

Next, I rode up to the Lowes on Stassney Lane just east of Congress near I-35. It sits on a hill with a view. Frost didn't show up very well, but it is there to the right. The Austonian was quite visible though.

It's taller than Frost!

The workers on the Austonian are now working on the 47th floor.
This means it is officially taller than the Frost Bank Tower.

Does anybody know when they're going to jump the crane for the Austonian?

It officially has the highest "roof" in town now. 4 more floors, and it'll be the tallest building in Austin.
